Creative marketing ideas can still be easy, fun, and are often inexpensive!
You could host an apple picking day in early autumn. Choose a local pick-your-own orchard that has a location for you to socialize after the apple picking, and include a hayride and picnic at the end.
Kids, both big and small, love this one!
Or organize a pumpkin picking party at Halloween for your clients and their friends.
Find a local farm that raises pumpkins and lets you pick your own, send out invitations several weeks before Halloween, and get a nice big group of your favorite clients and their friends.
Everyone gets to choose their own pumpkin (you could even have a pumpkin carving contest and provide all the child-safe carving utensils and clean-up afterwards) to take home for the holiday.
After the pumpkin-picking, have apple cider and hot chocolate. Make sure you take photos of each group of clients, their friends, and you with your pumpkins...and send it to them afterwards in your thank you note.
You could also host a Valentine's dinner for your widow and widower clients, complete with corsages for everyone. Your clients will greatly appreciate you thinking of them on this day.
Or why not organize a group of your favorite clients to go Christmas caroling?
Put together a small decorated booklet of well-loved carols (include your company name and website address on the back) so your carolers have the words and the music.
Then invite them to bring their friends, and host an after-caroling gathering at your home or office with mulled wine and desserts.
Another great idea: rent a tour bus or large van and treat your clients to a tour of lights during the holiday season.
You could also sponsor a drive to collect gifts for needy children in your area as part of the tour of lights.
Rather than planning an elaborate client dinner during the holidays, why not plan a New Year's Day brunch instead? My parents have been doing this for over 25 years, and it's always a huge hit!
Egg dishes, breakfast breads, and champagne cocktails make a lovely brunch, and it's so easy to put together. An added bonus is that many clients are free on New Year's Day, so they can make it to this party!
