Free marketing ideas? Isn't marketing expensive and time-consuming? Not necessarily!
1. The best free marketing idea, hands down, is to have a clear, defined
marketing niche.
It doesn't cost you a dime, and can be the most powerful marketing tool you have.
2. Contact a speaker from the Secret Service (part of the Treasury Department) to give a free identity theft seminar to your clients and their friends. You will likely need to provide the location for the seminar, and you may want to provide some snacks, but that's not even necessary.
3. You can also contact your local law enforcement office or fire department to conduct a child identity seminar for your clients, their children, and their friends.
You could also take photos of you with your clients and their children as yet one more identity tool...plus, you'll be in the photo. After the event, send the photo to them in your thank you note (which gives you a good reason to get contact information for people who attend who aren't already your clients!).
4. Get connected with the editor of your local newspaper, TV, or radio station and let them know about your marketing niche.
Tell them that you are always available to give comments or tips if they need to interview someone on short notice. Free publicity through the media is a great way of building your credibility.
5. It may sound really simple, but one of the best free marketing ideas involves you, your phone, and your list of clients and friends. Pick up that phone and stay connected with people!
Contact your clients on a regular basis...check in with them and see how they are doing. Ask for referrals. Let them know about any upcoming events or specials you are running.
6. Plan for a group of your clients, their friends, and you (of course) to help with a local Habitat for Humanity project. Not only will you have a lot of time to get to know your clients in a whole new way, but you will also be supporting a worthy cause at the same time.
You could also contact your local media to let them know what you’re doing...who knows, you might even be written up in your newspaper or see your face on TV! :)
