Summer marketing ideas have a lightness and breeziness to them - here are some of my favorites!
1. Host a grandparent and grandchild picnic for your clients and invite them to bring other families as well. Plan some fun games for the kids, and supply wonderful picnic food for all.
Be sure to bring along your digital camera and take some fun photos of you along with each family; when you go back to your office the next day, use the photos to create thank you cards to send after the event. They will keep the photos (because they're in them!), and you will be in the photos, too.
2. Invite a group of your clients and their friends to go to a movie or concert in the park. Supply chairs, blankets, and some easy summer snack foods and drinks. If you want to add another marketing element, give everyone their drink in an insulated-type drink cup with your company name, slogan, and website address on it to take home with them.
3. Here's another of my favorite ideas: several of my clients plan fishing trips for their clients every year.
They invite a few of their top clients and suggest they each invite a friend or two, then spend several days fishing and talking and connecting with everyone.
The group has a great time, and some of the best new client referrals come from these fishing trips!
Some other fun summer marketing ideas include:
host a gardening events - bring in a horticulture expert
organize a block yard sale
plan a sunset cruise
sponsor a tomato growing contest
host an ice cream social
